My Jeans Were Mean and Then I Met #NICEJEANS

The surge in the popularity of jeans was one fashion frenzy I was afraid I was not going to be able to get behind. At one point, I loved wearing jeans, but after having my son at 38, and gaining then losing a large amount of weight, my body just wasn’t the same anymore.

I wasn’t up for the struggle of squeezing myself into jeans that were uncomfortable and didn’t flatter my new “Mom” bod. I was intimidated and self-conscious because jeans can be mean! One day, though, I found myself ordering a pair of jeans from QVC — and that purchase changed my mind completely about denim! My now, new-found love of denim has a lot to do with the fact that I no longer have to fight to put my jeans on! I don’t have to lay on the bed with a hanger to try and zip them! I don’t feel like my thighs are going to burst out of them. I actually feel comfortable in jeans, and part of that is because of Laurie Felt‘s jeans — Laurie’s jeans were nice to me, and I fell in love.

The particular pair of Laurie Felt – Los Angeles jeans that I purchased from QVC on that momentous day were a dark wash, distressed boyfriend jean. When they arrived, I opened the bag not expecting much. I slipped them on, zipped them up, and I felt great about how they looked on me! They flattered my figure and they were comfortable! At that point, I was hooked. I ordered the light wash in the same exact jeans that very same day.

Laurie Felt’s line checks so many boxes for me. They offer a variety of styles that fit and flatter any figure! The jeans are on-trend, but not trendy. At 47 years old, I want to still follow trends when they are implemented, but with age appropriateness. I feel like I can’t go wrong with this line of denim because her styles are ageless! They feel good, they fit good, they look good — they’re just nice jeans for nice people!

Let’s talk about nice people. Laurie’s line is about more than just jeans, which is another reason I fell in love with the brand.

There is a mission behind Laurie Felt – Los Angeles to bring people together. In fact, behind the brand there is a closed Facebook community, Heartfelt by Laurie Felt, that is made up of so many positive, supportive ladies who, like me, are also fashion lovers. These ladies lift each other up daily with words of encouragement, motivation and praise! There are posts and conversations about fashion, but also posts about life struggles, new grandbabies, vegan recipes and more — there is even a book club! These are nice people who love nice jeans, too!

If there is one thing people have in common, it’s that we almost all wear blue jeans. When you go out, there is a 99.9% chance you will see someone else wearing a pair of jeans! While we all have differences, the truth is, we also have so much in common –and one thing we all have in common is DENIM.

So, if you’re going to wear a pair of jeans, why not wear a nice pair — a pair that is flattering, easy to wear and makes you feel amazing about, well you! Look good. Feel good. Do good.

Laurie Felt – Los Angeles believes that denim has the ability to break through the barriers that divide people; and bring people together. And, what better way is there to bring people together than through something we all wear? What better way is there to make a connection with someone than to give them an authentic compliment! It’s a simple as saying, “Hey, I love your jeans!”

That is Laurie Felt’s mission, and I am all for it.

I am a big believer that one smile can change a day, or even save a life. If you think jeans are mean like I did, I encourage you to check out Laurie’s nice jeans on QVC. If you see a pair you like — a pair that will make you feel beautiful — treat yourself!

And… the next time you are out and about and you see someone in a pair of jeans and you think they look awesome, tell them! Just those two simple words, #NICEJEANS, could bring a smile to someone’s face and totally change their day.

Laurie and her team have built this beautiful page to share more about this exciting movement for you to learn more!
